How to make a difference in people’s lives, is what younger generations are more and more caring about.

As younger generations represent more and more the workforces in our organisations, it becomes necessary to find out, what younger generations want from their workplace.

Gallup has found that they expect the following:

1. The organisation cares about employees´ wellbeing.

2. The organisation’s leadership is ethical.

3. The organisation is diverse and inclusive.

All of the above is about making a difference in people’s lives. And younger generations will not simply trust the words you put on your website. They will rather be doing their own research, looking closely at your actions in order to determine whether or not you are actually following through on your brand promise and really make a difference in people’s lives.

So next time you want to reflect on how attractive your organisation is for younger generations, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Am I truly considering employees’ wellbeing a priority?
  • How am I taking concrete actions to enhance my employees’ wellbeing?
  • Do I truly believe that ethical behaviour goes beyond compliance?
  • How can I role model ethical behaviour?
  • Is my team diverse and inclusive?
  • How do I enhance diversity and inclusion in my team?
